My practice sandwich! I like the variegated Sulky Blendables thread in "Americana". I had to play with the tension aLOT, and brought it down to 1.0 before it looked better. What do you advise?

For some reason I have lots of trouble with any of the varigated threads I've tried in free motion. I don't know why it is but tension and thread breaks drive me nuts while using it. I wonder if it is naturally weaker for some reason?
