Set up your game - the attached zippered pouch makes this a breeze!
:-)
Later in the day, my DH started a fire for s'mores in the chimnea and we enjoyed

The Camping Checkers AccuQuilt was created from
32 white 2" scrappy squares
and
32 dark blue 2" scrappy squares
Four 2 1/4" x 8" red strips for inside border
Eight 3.5" various scrappy squares for second border
Four 4" white scrappy strips for largest outside border, cut to fit for square corners
2.25" wof scrappy strips cut to fit for binding
back: scrappy strips of denim sewn together to fit
A scrappy binding with attached, zippered bag for checkers picture tutorial:
Recycled zippered pencil bag from 2nd grade
Great grandma Block's buttons - a set of brown and a set of white
Pinch and then snip to mark
Draw a line diagonally from where you snipped
Sew with right sides together (this scrappyquilt has a scrappy binding, too)
Sew along the edge to finish.
(Scrappy jeans backing, too!)
Two buttons in one space for the king.
This will be great for Mother's Day!
This Mom needs to brush up on her strategic moves :-)
Have fun and happy sewing,
