Getting ready for a weekend vacation kept me busier than I had originally planned, but I did manage to accomplish blocks for TWO different quilts! (I'm getting ready to see Journey in concert tomorrow night!)
These first two were cut with the Lazy Angle Ruler by Joan Hawley
These blocks were made very quickly and easily from my Basic Grey for Moda in Aspen Frost jelly roll.
Three 2.5" x WOF strips
dark
light
medium
Cut these in half diagonally
Cut out 6.5" squares in coordinating background fabric (white with red snowflakes) and cut each of those in half diagonally, too.
Arrange to suit.
This idea came from a free Moda pattern called "Jelly Roll Spin".
Here are many free jelly roll patterns on PDF from www.gobookee.net .
P.S. From Sugarlane Quilts (the FNSI sponsor for July 2013)
Tonight’s the night…and it’s a perfect night for settling in and sewing with your gal-pals!!!! I’m sooooo excited….we have so many people joining us…..
At last count there were 63 of us…..if we can get to 80, I’m going to offer a second prize!!!!!! My very good bloggy friend Anthea, who has been encouraging me with fostering FNSI ALL the way along, has sent some gorgeous FQ packs as prizes….isn’t she amazing!?!
Here is first prize……
and second is…….
three gorgeous FQs to get you ready for next month’s FNSI!
