Cindy is demonstrating the brother 10 needle upright embroidery machine.
This machine won the Innovations 2011 award.
Cindy has positioned my purple, waffle-weave fabric jacket on top of the stabilizer in the hoop. She then ran a basting stitch all the way around the jacket to secure it to the stabilizer, we chose ten appropriate Floriani embroidery threads and away we went!
Cindy and Jolynn busy working!
A stabilizer called 'topper' goes on top of the fabric to prevent the embroidery threads from disappearing into the heavy fabric.
After the bottom and topper stabilizers have been removed, my jacket was ready to try on!
So, what do you think?
I am a member of J&R's Serger Club which meets there every third Monday evening. I forgot my serger at home, so Cindy brought out a Pfaff for lucky me to try!
Our serger project for the evening was a 10 minute table topper, which was lots of fun to make.
Ta-dah!
I'll add a decorative button on each side before mailing this to Germany.
Do you think my friend will like her table topper? Her favorite color is orange :-)
I love my new job at the quilt shop!
The jacket is beautiful! It's nice to see some of the staff there at the shop. I know you're having a blast! Your friend in Germany will love the table topper. It turned out really great!

ReplyDeleteWow! I want your job! I love working from home, but I would love working in a sewing or vac shop. Your project was perfect and I have always wanted that bird as a tattoo on my leg...silly me!
ReplyDeleteI have to take a serger class and find out more about them!
